What is a Gong Puja?

A Gong Puja is a devotional ritual which honors and allows space for participants to heal in mind, body and spirit. The Gong is the object and instrument which facilitates self healing.

A Gong Puja typically lasts about 7 1⁄2 hours (or ten 45-minute Gong Sound Baths).

Don always encourages the Gong Player to think creatively. A Puja can be an overnight puja (a Puja-ma Party), or a 24 hour Gong Puja to heal the planet.

The story Don tells is based on his personal experience with Yogi Bajan. After seeing the effects of one 45 minute Gong Bath that Yogi Bajan gave to his son, who was verbally delayed, Yogi Bajan declared that with 10 consecutive 45 minute daily sessions "one could cure almost anything." Because the reality is that a person wouldn't necessarily be able to do one 45 minute a day for 10 days. The idea of putting them into a 450 minute creates the possibility to achieve the result of self-healing, relieving the body of suffering, opening the heart to return to a natural balanced state of joy.

The magic and power of this particular ritual, the 450 minute All-Night Gong Puja, is that by creating a such a climate of opportunity for self healing, we can then carry that vibration of self-healing out into the world to inspire others to do the same. "These true shifts in consciousness are not only possible, they are happening at a Gong-In nearest you."

In the year 2000, Grand Gong Master Don Conreaux developed and held his first official Overnight Gong Puja to deliver these 10 consecutive gong baths in one grand night of healing as participants slept*, “allowing the mind to float in a state of gong consciousness while the body rested on this plane in the most optimum state for healing: Deep sleep.”

*not all participants sleep during the all-night gong puja. There are two types of participants - the Gong master players playing the gongs and the ones who come to receive. There are the participants who sleep and the ones who stay awake in a state of neutrality which is called Turiya.
