What is a Starhenge?
Historically henges date back to Neolithic times if not further considering they have been found to exist in very deep waters. They are found in many global cultures and essentially consisted of a circular area enclosed by a boundary earthwork, usually a ditch with an external bank. They were used by early civilizations for divination, to mark the passing of the seasons, for planting and harvesting, and to serve as astrological observatories. Entire communities gathered within these stone or sometimes wood circles for celebrations and festivals. Today the most well-known henge is located in England. We call it Stonehenge, and it was the main center for 24-hour healing through Angelic Choirs dressed in white.
With the advent today, world-wide, of our Aquarian new age dawning, modern humans seek places of deep meaning. We have a desire to come together to share and build community in harmony and peace. Unfortunately in modern times such communal sonorous spaces inconveniently do not exist, ..............but now......
Gongmaster Don Conreaux and his family network of Gong Masters around the world are spreading the concept and construction of Starhenge Universal Peace Gardens to fill this spiritual need. These new 'henges 'of the Aquarian Age are an outgrowth of the seminal age of stone circles with one of the oldest in South Africa where singing stones were played like gongs.
Don was the first to create a sonal design template combining sacred astrological symbols and calendars from cultures around the world. He placed cities and countries in co-centric rings (circles within circles) according to both distance and direction and aligned the template to true North, using stones or markers, so that each circle is in resonance with others through the principles of sacred geometry. They also serve the age old purposes of musical ceremonies. The archetype of his design is the ancient Number 12 New Jerusalem Diagram.
"The extent to which Starhenges are considered effective is directly connected with the experience they engender, the emotions and insights they ignite, the sense of calm or Presence they evoke, the depth of solace they bring and the activation of our interior symbolic realms that they stir." (Lauren Artress, Walking a Sacred Path, Second Ed. Riverhead, 2006 p.180)
An effective Starhenge creates a "temenos"; a sacred space set aside for healing, insight, revelation and release.
The Starhenge concept enables one to plant a garden for peace anywhere. It does not necessarily need to go on a ley line or in an existing sacred space. As people use the gardens to celebrate socially significant events, they keep alive the vision of our planet keeping safe for the present children and all children of the future, a world without without wars beginning with the coming first day of world peace and functional harmony.
The “Starhenge in a Suitcase” or portable Starhenge makes the Starhenge concept even more accessible - as we do not need land or large spaces rather - a Starhenge Template allows us to set up the Starhenge anywhere - in our homes, on our altars, outside in the garden, within our Sound Healing spaces, etc.
